Step by step eye make-up guide

As a make-up artist, I feel that eye make-up is really important to get right, to create a professional make-up look. So I have put together a step by step guide on how to apply eye make up that defines your features and creates a natural beautiful look.

Step1: Get everything ready, you will need a firm eyeshadow brush, an angled brush, 3 complimenting shades of shadow e.g beige, light brown & darkbrown, black or brown eye pencil, waterproof mascara, 2x cotton buds & powder brush

Step 2: After applying your foundation and conceler over the eyelid and setting with powder, using your firm eyeshadow brush apply the lightest of the 3 shades all over the entire eyelid up to the brow bone.

Step 3: Using the middle colour sweep this over the bottom of the eyelid up to the crease line

Step 4: using a small amount of the darkest colour and the angled brush, work along the crease in the eye building up the colour as you go.This will create an intense took and really define your eyes.

Step 5: To create a smoky eye effect using the darkest colour and the angle brush apply sparingly along the bottom lash line.

Step 6: Using a cottonbud, blend the colour so that there are no harsh lines on the top or bottom lid.

Step7: Using an eye pencil apply a thin line of colour along the bottom lash line, from the middle outwards and the same again to the top lash line. Again blend with a cotton bud to erase any harsh lines.

Step 8: Using a powder brush sweep under the eyes to ensure that any fall out from the eyeshadow is removed, you may also apply a small amount of concealer to sharpen up the lines if you feel this in necessary.

Step9: Lastly apply two good coats of high quality waterproof Masacara to the top and bottom lashes to finish off the look.
